Originally in NYC near the Hippodrome Theater in the late 1800's, Bischoff's is a fourth-generation family ice cream business. We have been in our Teaneck location since 1934. We offer an old-fashioned ice cream soda fountain experience complete with spinning stools at the counter, wait staff wearing paper hats and bow ties, and egg creams! The ice cream and all of the sauces (hot fudge, marshmallow, etc) are made by hand on the premises. We have 40 flavors including ice cream, ice milks, sugar-free ice cream, sherbet and ices. Step through our doors and step back in time.
What's the best selling flavor?
Vanilla and Chocolate!
What's with the name?
Albert Bischoff started the store and it has been passed down through daughters, which is why the Mather family owns it now. Steven will be the first son to take over the business.
Do you serve other food?
Yes! We have burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and more!
Why no french fries?
The grease from a fryer would be absorbed by the chocolates, ruining them.
Do you take credit cards?
YES!!!! Now we do!
Why can't I get two toppings on a small dish?
They simply will not fit!

Do you deliver?
No, not at this time.
Do you ship?
We don't, but we have had people get their own shipping supplies (including dry ice) and ship our ice cream themselves.
Do you sell your ice cream any where else?
No, just in our Teaneck store.
Do you take reservations:
We do for large parties.
Can I get custom flavors in an ice cream cake?
Yes, but we need a week's notice.
Do you take phone orders?
We do, but not for ice cream. Just for the kitchen.
Why isn't the slicer open after 3PM?
Because the staff after 3PM is mainly high school students and anyone under 18 is not allowed to use the slicer.
